I used to listen to Sean Hannity.
I was in my car driving home from work. Dr. Laura would have to wait because I couldn't listen to her on my car's radio.
Dumb neighborhood kids...
It was a day or two after the November 2006 election and people were calling in about the results. Many callers were stunned, angered and saddened by the results. Others were overjoyed to say the least.
The Hannity Hotline is SO FUNNY.
There was one lady who called in and was on the verge of tears. Hannity talked to her for a while, espousing his views and saying some words of encouragement to the caller.
"Let not your heart be troubled."
After a while he began to talk to another caller. This one not on the verge of tears but not knowing what do to. If you are unhappy with something do something about it, was the gist of what he replied. I thought about that for a moment.
I thought about this comic.
A little more than one month before, Ben Cardin and Michael Steele were fighting for the U.S. Senate seat of the state I currently reside in. I went to each of their sites to see what they believed in. I knew who I was voting for.
Did I mention I dislike Cardin? He can't debate his way out of a paper bag. Honestly.
While Steele put up facts, Cardin would try to divert attention to something "evil" Steele had done, hardly offering any facts or beliefs of his own. I had to go to his website for that, and there I was none too impressed. Steele was going to win. Cardin talked about change, but he's been in Washington how long now?
Maryland, what is wrong with you? Oh yeah. Never mind.
A month later the results were in. Steele had lost and I was mad. But instead of moping around, instead of staying angry, I listened to Sean Hannity's words and I got creative.
